Found some info on the British History Online street index. It states...
"Guphill Lane; also called Whoberley Lane, formed part of the boundary between Coventry and Stoneleigh, across and north of Hearsall Common, and probably took its name from the Gopyls or Gupyls, who held land in Whoberley in the late 13th and 14th centuries."

This is Guphill Avenue from a couple of weeks ago. The houses are in a curved line like a crescent.

Thank you I had found Guphill Avenue. I must have had sunstroke yesterday sorry! It's not Guphill Crescent, it's 78 Guphill Close. Taken from probate records. Question |
