Hi all
How on earth do I follow these comments? I tell you what, I wish that you on here had been writing my school reports, as they said nothing like the heart warming sentiments that you have shared. I am going to try & reply.
Most of us learn by our mistakes. My dad used to say "Them's that did not make mistakes, didn't do anything!" I have been in a most fortunate position in life throughout my career in business finance. You see, I spent so much time where I was forced to be concise & accurate, so that I could then argue across a boardroom table with contractors, clients & so on. I always respected staff & colleagues, as I try to do on here, our forum with its team & members, but I knew when a spade was a spade. That is where I learnt the futility of rhetoric. I am so heartened by your comments, but if you lived with me on a bad day, you might see another side. My business life meant, that as well as arguing over a negotiating table, so much had to be put in print. Finance & contractual correspondence has to be concise, which does give me an edge when writing or posting on here, we usually have time to think about what we are writing.
Now, after all of that, the most important thing for me is to realise that we only live once, as far as I know. I never ever hold grudges & once an issue is dealt with, it is like a new exercise book, at the beginning of term where there are no blots.
Thank you
Love to you all.
