Motor Racing history of Daimler, Jaguar, Triumph, etc.

I came across this article pinned up on the wall of "Stuart's Well Roadhouse", Northern Territory, Australia in October 2006. I don't know when this was published but it tells a good story of a remarkable Jaguar XK120 trip in 1951. "Stuart's Well Roadhouse" was the home of "Dinky, the singing Dingo" at the time I visited the roadhouse. For ease of reading look at the second and third images.

That's quite an article, thanks for the link MIck! While living in Queensland I joined the "JDCQ" Jaguar Drivers Club of Queensland. The were members with some great Jaguars and some who raced them. I won this picture in a JDCQ raffle signed by three of the "Jaguar Historic Racing Team" members.

Great poster, Earlsdon Kid. Do you know if the green XJS was ran by Tom Walkinshaw's team at that time? They normally had a TWR sticker on the windscreen and he ran numbers 1 & 2. Cannot find a picture with 27 on, but they are the colours he ran.

Good point, Mick! I can't confirm it is, but I know there were some very serious collectors in the JDCQ. The poster does specify the Tom Walkinshaw's XJS's placed 1st and 3rd in the 1985 Bathurst 1000 race (hard to see on the picture I posted). From what I can make out two of the XJS's were "8" and "10" and I suspect the third was "2". It would be interesting if the "27" had some significant meaning?
