Hi can anyone share any stories about the American GI's in Coventry during World War Two? I'm particularly interested in them being based in the Keresley area but all stories welcome |

Thanks Morgana my grandfather was based at that camp. I'm interested in all the stories as I know very little about the army base and would love to know more. |

You're welcome, sorry I only know about the piece I gave you, I used to live right by where the base was which is now a catholic school called Cardinal Newman, you could try phoning the school as they have a person who researches history so I was informed by the school itself. |

I can't find anything on the Internet either. All I know is that it was a 'Quartermaster Truck Company' and I found this out by writing to the U.S Army. Well it was 70 years ago. I didn't know a school had been built on the site though , I'll take a look.
Thank you again |

Hi,
I don't know about Coventry but my mum told me about cycling over to Leamington with girl friends to dances with the GI's and that they always went in small groups who promised to stay together, one didn't and ended up with some nylons and a bar of chocolate!!!! |
