Has Rob got a three-wheel bike (with or without a bent wheel)?

While they`re sorting out a play area, perhaps they could re-instate the paddling pool (or maybe that would be against H & S regulations!!! |

Doh! I've been rumbled! And all that effort to get that tyre down only to find it had perished!
Many thanks to Tony for all that great info. though - a man with connections by the sound of it! |

Can anyone tell me what has happened to the above, has it gone the same way as the wonderful sandstone fountain which disappeared from Gosford Green years ago.
Used to quench our thirst in the Fountain after playing football and cricket on the adjacent park. The huge fir tree standing adjacent to the Binley road were our stumps or goalpost, it was only the width of cricket stumps then. Oh dear that was 60 years ago. |

And a warm welcome to you Herberts Lad & thanks for your post!
There's no further news as yet on what anyone plans to do with the structure, but I'll try and keep everyone informed as/when I hear any news. |

What a gem of a photo that is Foxcote, well done for finding it! Shame even the water troughs are probably not allowed nowadays in case we all catch germs or the dreaded lurgy!
I can still hardly believe that it would've cost the quoted £64,000 to have it restored - I'd have done it for a tenner and a pot of Dulux!! I'm wondering if the quote was exaggerated by the council simply to avoid bothering to have it done at all? |

"Exaggerated" is a very strong term Rob.
Let's just say there are "different ways" of assessing the cost of a project, depending on whether you really wish to proceed with it or not |

Morning Dutchman, as always it's what the council wants not what is needed. These monuments are erected mostly in memory of dignitaries or the 'fallen' with a great deal of respect so they deserve to be maintained for years to come automatically, and the cost should not come into it. Hope I have not opened a can of worms here.

In fairness to the council it would probably be vandalised again within five minutes of being restored, like everything else in Coventry
