Ernest James Hall (tree in the Memorial Park)

Thanks for all the info, most of which I knew, some I did not. Next question, where can I view his medal card? Would be the same card that people view when researching relations on tv? I seem to recall in some instances there is detailed information of the action in which the person in question was involved.

Matchle55 - I viewed the record card through my Ancestry account. The only other entry on your relative's card is the notation 'K in A' which signifies that he was killed in action. Looking at the card again it shows that he was first in the ASC, then the London Regiment, and finally in the Seaforth Highlanders. Another record shows that he was serving in the 5th Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders at the time of his death. I have only seen a few of these medal records and have not seen any great detail on any of them. The date he went to France is there only to show that he qualified for the 1915 Star. The other information is purely army administration for medal qualification and distribution.

Not Local - could you tell me if there was a specific section in Ancestry that you applied your search? I also subscribe but had difficulty locating any information. Thanks

Index Cards 1914 - 1920 Then just select the appropriate Ernest James Hall who is clearly shown as serving in the three regiments.I have not checked those details against any of the other indices, I have just used the information supplied in the topic.
