Hi all Wave One feature of our 360 circle bus route is the number of pubs that are accessed along its route. I counted eleven just on the section from Allesley to the Ricoh this afternoon. Many of them good eating pubs too. Couple fish & chip shops to the list & the buses would need good air-conditioning. If it was not thwarted by advertising restrictions, I could just picture the route map from Centro, showing the pubs & fish & chip shops. I remember an episode of "Last of the Summer Wine" where the trio decided to "do the three pubs (or was it five pubs!) on their bikes". You know what I am thinking here. I often visit the pubs in my own locality, but the sky is the limit with this 360 service. Thumbs up

Hi all Wave Our number 99 is proving to be a popular model. I wish someone would do one of the FHP or GKV Daimler series.

I mentioned this bus in an earlier post, we had a few buses for breaking up, this one was in perfect running order so we all went to Blackpool in it. Do you know anyone? 2nd left is Barry Whitmore, the rest are mostly demolition workers..

I bought a limited edition (10,000 run) about 20 years ago with a CC double decker (no. 125 showing Ryton) and a single decker. Both are in CCT livery but, having bought it, I then realized that the coach was nothing like any CCT coach I`ve ever seen. I came to the conclusion that the company that made it turned out `standard` models and put various liveries on them. Ever been had?

Do you mean this one? This was one of nine Roe-bodied Bedfords introduced by Coventry Corporation in 1942 - EKV290-298 (nos 290-298) - they were withdrawn in 1948/49 Here is 125 on its way to Ryton! Thumbs up

Thank you for that MR. I now see that I was very young when they were withdrawn so probably wouldn`t have seen them. Looks like it wasn`t such a bad buy after all.

Your suspicion is correct. The model is indeed a generic one, the actual vehicles had Roe bodywork to a wartime spec and looked very similar to this but with COVENTRY TRANSPORT on the waistband.

I was 8 years old when these Bedfords came into service during the war, they were dark grey in colour and had wooden slatted seats. I first travelled on 291 from Cross Road to town and I can still remember the typical whine from the gearbox, the driver was George Wright who was a friend of my dad who was a CCT conductor. George Wright eventually became an inspector and driving instructor.

Can anyone tell me why oh why do we have to put up with these 'bendy-buses' they are miles to big for our roads, were built for European cities where roads are wider/bigger and many a driver can't handle them!!! Get rid and bring back double and single decker buses Big grin Big grin
