A post box from the reign of Queen Victoria. The location was originally at the centre of a small village but it was long ago swallowed up into the suburbs of the city.
Situated at the junction of Aldermans Green Rd and Co-Operative St the post box sits in the wall of what is now a general store and off-licence but I guess it was once a post office. Almost next door is the Aldermans Green Free Methodist Church, formerly the Ebenezer Free Methodist Church, and the attached Jubilee Hall which was built in 1908 to celebrate the church's 50th anniversary. The Aldermans Green war memorial stands in front of the church.
