Of course you are right dutchman, if I'd used the brain that I used to have, I would have realised that the children were much younger than I was when I went to the new St Mary's, plus the fact that in the Juniors the desks were in rows. Did you recognise the teacher?
morgana - I really hope that you find the photo of dutchman by the Belgrade fountain. |

Another clue Tricia is that the covered walk can be seen to the left of the classrooms rather than the right.
I have a vague idea who the teacher was but I was never in her class.

O my, 'You had school books' Don't remember any school books, we had a blackboard to read from, a few desks, not enough, a few teachers, not enough, and a tiny cloak room were we ate sandwiches at lunch time. 'And' pretty teachers,I would never have left school, Don't remember a teacher under fifty, with my luck, hope I get a coffin and not a tea chest. |

I would dearly love to recognise myself or anyone I knew in one of those school photos, but sadly I don't recall a single "whole class" photo ever being taken during my time at school in the 1970s - only individual ones.
If anyone ever finds a class photo of Stoke Primary or Stoke Park School from that era, it would be great to see - but I fear that the cuts of those times meant there probably weren't any. |
