Hi David
High House was named as "Highclere" on the earliest map I could find (1888) although later maps show it as "High House"
(The building shown below it was "Hylands")
In 1891 and 1901 High House was lived in by a lady called Francis Verrall and her daughters. In 1902 she had a fatal accident in a dog cart. It was advertised for sale in 1904 by George Loveitts.

1911 Census, William Hicks, coachman, listed at High House, with wife Sentire
Coincidentally, I remember that one of the leading tennis players there in the 60s was named Hicks (can't remember his first name)
