We have just received an email from Australia asking for family history assistance. Generally no problem as the family was from Bedworth but the branch who emigrated to Queensland in 1863 were living in Coventry in 1861. The address given was ST GEORGES TERRACE in the parish of Holy Trinity. It doesn't matter for the research but it's bugging me as I've never heard of ST GEORGES TERRACE before so don't know where it was situated. Any ideas?

You didn't PM me, but I've found it anyway! It ran from the top of Brook Street (at Yardley Street/Vernon Street) to King William Street/Berry Street

Thank you for that. What year is your map? It's shown but not marked on my 1905 map. I've been busy since lunch looking after Northern Warwickshire Tourism, takes up a lot of time. There is a George Eliot event on this Saturday at Coton Heritage Centre if of interest to anyone. Vince

No, I think St George's Terrace occupies only the west side of Berry Street.

When I lived in Hillfields, that stretch of street called St. George's Terrace on MR's map was Brook Street.
