Hi all, this is my first post, so I'll do a bit of an introduction... My name is Frank Moseley, I'm 39 and I've lived in Coventry all my life. I'm particularly interested in local industrial and railway history, so this forum is perfect for hours of reading.
My father worked for Hallam's in the late 70's until it closed in (I think) 1982. I frequently visited there with him in school holidays, and can remember quite a lot about the buildings the offices, paint store, and workshop which had a table saw with, what seemed to a six year old, the biggest blade in the world!
I would love to hear from anyone who also has memories of this place, or the company (which apparently had been in existence for a very long time). Also, what has intrigued me is that for years the site has existed exactly how it was left, and only recently the buildings have been demolished. I would have thought that this piece of land would have been built on a long time ago.
