Hello, What a contrast to my last post. A couple of complex duties yesterday, yet every train on time & no platform changes. I am volunteering (I'm reimbursed if needed) but my delight of looking out of a carriage window, it's like being paid to do a hobby. Finance & accounting wasn't a hobby, but I often sat back to embrace the fact in amazement, that I was being paid to do something that I loved doing. My home life I'm sure so shaped me. I've shared on here how I was fascinated with some of mum's accounting machinery when several times a month our Sewall Highway front room was turned into an office. My dad took me into his office once at Humber, in the chassis experimental & development department. No accounting machinery, but his slide rule, drawings and bits of odd looking car engine parts. I was in Paybody orthopaedic hospital during a Christmas period when mum & dad received the letter that I had been granted scholarship for my senior school. When I returned home, what had been my small bedroom in Sewall Highway, had been turned into a study, complete with a new Abbess office desk. I was Little Lord Fauntleroy. I've an early turn this morning in the Nuneaton direction, where my fried-bread tentacles keep popping up. It's not been a week yet. Let me count the days again since last Saturday to make sure I've not mis-counted since my last English Breaky.

Hello Some picture postcards from my awayday yesterday. The last picture as I leave Coventry station, with a view that takes me back nearly 73 years.

Hello, I've just enjoyed a Greggs lunch deal whilst travelling at 70mph. Is that called fast food?

Hello, Well, have I got some pics for later. Well have I? I'm returning home from my venture into the wilderness, where all that is pork isn't pie & all that is pie isn't pork, but where a whisp of steam is accompanied by proper porkpie, a bit of sunshine plus my food, drink & travel expenses are less than £10, it only deserves a repeat as soon as possible.

Hello, I didn't need mustard or the knife & fork. It was beautiful. Only my teeth marks paid testimony.

Hello, I'm not blind to the civil unrest that is causing havoc currently, so I'm avoiding evening's & non essential travel at weekends.

Hello, An interiors picture of brand new open commuter trains, limited luggage space, but much wider gangways, plus doing away with sections adds a lot more seats. There are full sized tables through the train, I sat at one this afternoon.

Hello, Following from my DMU conversation on my model railway, here's the Severn Valley fish & chip restored DMU. In there day, there were several designs, with production from various manufacturers.
