I read on a thread on this forum about Christopher Cash being the inventor of the humane bolt gun. I always believed that Joseph Cash school was Christopher Cash school when I was a kid, so I checked this out to find I was right, it used to be called Christopher Cash. Link to a little history on why the name of the school was changed from Christopher Cash to Joseph Cash.

I went to the school when it was called Christopher Cash and Pridmore as a kid. I lived in Guild Rd opposite Pridmore. Both lovely schools to go to. Smile

I went to Pridmore School and then it got burned down so we were transferred to Christopher Cash then to be called Joseph Cash. I remember being shown around when I was a little girl and remember all the chairs being covered in plastic with different coloured feet for different sized chairs. Funny the things you remember.

Primore School was on Narrow Lane, as you both would know is now Kingfield Rd, it was built small of breeze blocks to school 5 to 14 year olds, it was then bombed during the war, when it moved to Christopher Cash now known as Joseph Cash they decided to separate it just to school infants and juniors as we know it now up to 11 years of age. Thank you both for your interest in my thread, RadfordGirl and Skybluerocker.

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I found it as I was desperately looking for evidence that Pridmore school existed. I went there from 1968 to 1973. Headmaster was Mr. Ken Lawrence and have fond memories of my youth there. I used to walk from Newfield Rd, along Kingfield Rd, onto Pridmore Rd. I remember the nearby roads as Guild and Matlock. If anyone has any pictures of Pridmore school, please share. My younger sister was also there and she was moved to Christopher Cash school in 1975 (juniors and infants split), later on everyone was moved to Christopher Cash school. Prior to that we used to do all our field sports at the Christopher Cash site by walking across on Kingfield Rd and Lockhurst Lane, over the bridge. Does anyone remember any of this, or is it me being nostalgic. We would also be taken to the Livingstone Baths for swimming once a week. Now the Pridmore site is built over with new houses.
