This film is new to me (so I hope I am not repeating this) and I thought it was exciting as the film ends with a trip round the town. It starts with the car being made and then the completed car and the new owners drive it through the town. I felt I was transported back to all the times you mention on here. Standard 8, 1953

Amazing film. Some creative editing there I think. There is no way all those suitcases really fitted in the back. Anyone know the name of the lane the car goes down after leaving the house?

Hmm, don't think it's there Dreamtime, as the house frontages of that type of semi appear to have "square" bays at the front, the ones in the film appear to have round stone-bays. I think you are in the right sort of area though as I'm sure one shot shows them driving along Kenpas Highway. The only stone-bayed houses that I know in this area are at the top of Green Lane South, but they are terraced properties, not semi-detached. Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks for helping out with the links mcsporran. Did you spot the policeman on point duty? I found another film but it was Leamington Spa and strictly not supposed to be on here but seeing as you are so 'cluey' (Dreamtime's Aussie slang, that I loved) on cars and may well spot some winners, I thought I would post it. Please help to clarify the link for all the members if necessary. Cars in Leamington Spa, 1953-1963 Please take us through this film of the old Coventry made cars. I have never seen so many cars that I can't make out the registration plate Roll eyes

Love the gent directing the traffic towards the end in what appears to be somewhere around St Patricks Road/Warwick Road/Eaton Road.

I wondered what the children found so interesting as they turned round, was it the bus?
