Normk, Do you mean the garage on the left half way down or the one right further down?

I believe the garage at the bottom of Leicester Causeway which was or still is owed by the Turrells was called Bill and Bob's.

I know this is not Aldermans Green Church but someone mentioned the Brook Chapel and here it is. I am told that there was a ford outside, originally, where the brook crossed the road. It has long since been culverted.

Greg, it was a religious building at one time I believe, certainly was there in the twenties but not used, the doors at the side have been added since the forties, it was a pathway. I suppose it must have been a ford before the roadway, The only time I saw an amount of water cross the road was when the canal emptied. How can it be left in that state? Believe the pathway was used by the football team from the Miners Arms. The brook that killed the 'slough' for me, still bitter about it.

I was talking to a long time local resident this afternoon, Kaga, and he used to fish there 50+ years ago. He tells me that he gets info about the state of the water every so often and that the only things likely to survive now are sticklebacks. Surprisingly, there is quite a bit of waterbird life down there although I reckon the `land` birds (wrens, tits, blackbirds etc.) are less plentiful.

Does anyone now anything about it?? Apparently it used to have a name?? The house is opposite Aldermans Green post office. Many thanks Craig Thumbs up
If the house is opposite the Miners, yes, I know who owned it. Anyone interested, then ask on here. Kava.
