You're welcome Island Cafe, just type in search bar top of page or google Longford Rockers. As for you forgetting, when I was in my 20s I use to forget where I put my keys, in the same day I locked myself out then later locked myself in the living room forgetting I had taken the door knob off the other side while burning the paint off the door. Back then my friend and kids said I need a chain around my neck with my keys, now at 60 my kids say senile dementia. Big grin

Does anyone remember a photo taken outside the Longford skating rink in front of the shops of some of the Longford Rockers, there was about 15 or so of us. I'm sure it was in the Telegraph (don't know if it was called the Coventry Evening Telegraph then). I've tried going down the town library looking at pictures, trouble is I don't know what year it was in the 1960s, want to get a copy if poss. It seems that there is some on this forum who are very good at finding photos & information, would be very pleased if someone could help

The History Centre in the Herbert have the Telegraph on microfilm. It's pretty quick to wind through them especially if you are looking for a picture.

Hi Alan don't know if u remember me but my mum used to work for u and Jackie, her name was Lil. I don't know who the ex-rocker was but he was right, every one of the lads respected u and Jackie. My mum always said u were the best people she ever worked for. Hope u and Jackie are keeping well.

Hi John, Yes of course I remember you, the minute I mentioned your name to Jackie she said "that was Lil's son". If I remember you used to go out with Elaine (I won't say her second name). Great days. The ex rocker who visited us was Adie, who told me he is on the photo on this site but only his crutch can be seen because he had broken his leg and all the others were standing on him Sadly Jackie & I are having to make a flying visit to Coventry next Friday for the funeral of another lady that worked for us in the evenings, Sheila, who was a dear friend. You may perhaps remember her. Is your mum still around? If so remember us to her. Alan

Hi Alan, I see u still got a good memory. Sorry to hear about Sheila, she was a nice lady. Alan, my mum passed away 2003. About Adie, I think he is back in England. I did hear he was not very well, have to get in touch with my old mate Doug Noble. Yes Alan u were right they were some of the best days of our lives thanks to u and Jackie for opening the cafe. If I hear anything about Adie I will let you know. Take care.

Hi Doug, yes I remember it well with your terrible injuries and the sad loss of a good friend Gayle. Remember before the Island cafe we used to hang about around Johny Bloxham's mum's shop? Tell me have you still got the Arrow with the expansion boxes, haha. All the best. Ray
