Does anyone know who this group are and where and when the photograph was taken
While researching my wife's family history I came across this photograph. In the photograph are some of my wife's relations. They are numbered 1 to 3 on the photograph. No.1 is Arthur Denny, my wife's great grandfather (born 1865). No.2 is Arthur's son Henry Denny (born 1889). No.3 is John Roland Leedham, Arthur's son in law, my wife's grandfather (born 1891).
They appear to be members of a club or society. I know nothing of the interests of our relations and I can find no clues in the photograph as to what the the club was for. It probably met at a pub and the photograph was taken behind the pub, which I do not recognise and which probably no longer exists. I have some idea when the photo was taken because Arthur was in the army and did not live in Coventry until 1908 and rejoined the army for the duration of WW1. Also knowing the dates of birth of our relatives we can make an estimate based on their apparent age in the photo. My guess would be 1914, before the outbreak of war.
