Hi to all, can someone help us? My partner is looking for any info or photos of the old 'Municipal General Hospital U D' as this is where her sister was born in November 1945. This is what it says on her birth certificate - hope someone can help. Thanks.

A quick internet search indicates that in 1929 the old 'workhouse hospital' was renamed 'Gulson Road Municipal Hospital' but then maybe all hospitals around this time were 'Municipal' so I can't verify this is what you are looking for. I'm sure others can add more to this.

What is now the Royal Court Hotel was used as a maternity hospital during and after the war. Do you know where the birth was registered ?

Yes it was registered in County Borough of Coventry, that's what is on the form and it has a red 1d stamp on it as well
