Hello, It was an honour for me to be invited to an after wedding reception this past weekend. The happy couple got married in Greece, (I told them to use cooking fat), anyway, I was allocated to table one. Oooooow. This was the UK celebration. I stayed the night. Very comfortable & obliging run country hotel. It was a charming venue. It used to be called the Oak. Twenty one miles from Coventry, almost directly south. I so enjoyed it except that I'm in a state of illness recovery, so I could well look forward to a few days there, if my family want a rest & have me out of the way anytime. I will eagerly oblige them.

Hello, There are very mixed reviews of the hotel on TripAdvisor, it's at the bottom end of costs, B&Bs in Coventry cost more. It's not Buckingham palace, or Harrods, but it was very comfortable for me.

Hello, Love it, I really do. Leamington to Banbury took Pam & I five days. Oxford was another three. Two brand new boats out of the boat yard. Pam studying the map, thinks we should have taken the road up & over the hill at the last junc. I'm checking the tyres. We don't want to be hadup for speeding if we are riding on sliks.

Lovely photo and, I'm sure, lots of memories. We went down the canal from Stratford about 4 years ago and it was one of the best and most memorable trips we have taken. We stopped at pubs and parks on the way to meet friends who were a short drive from the canal.

Hi Philip. Whilst walking the Thames Path a couple of weeks ago, we B&B'd at "The Railway Inn" at Culham station, you could almost touch the trains from the bedroom window. Smashing place with lots of pictures and memorabilia. Also great food. I had game pie (venison, pigeon & rabbit), mash and carrots, with a nice Guinness to wash it down.

Got back late on Monday night from a ramble around Amiens Street Market. Leaving on Friday morning and driving a total of 809 miles. The market traders started to set up around 6pm on Saturday, In total on Sunday my eldest and me walked a total of 40,935 steps that covered 12.4 miles of streets (obviously stopping for a couple of beers and a jambon baguette on route) I bought some nice blue enamel house door number plates and some nice French electric trains that are made by Jouef.

Hi Choirboy The Cathedral was fantastic. As was the architecture of a lot of the older buildings. One of the worst parts of town was the Station square!!!

Great to hear from you again, Mick. I really enjoy your posts about your trips with your son(s). That's a lovely view of the open street - must have been taken fairly early in the morning.
