Lovely to see the Coventry wildlife shots on here. Photos of Coventry wild flowers in situ would be good to see on here as well, thanks Morgana Thumbs up I particularly liked the Ricoh photo with the Cinnabar Moths and the yellow daisy like plant and wondered what the common name was for it?

These were everywhere when I was growing up in Coventry. They seemed to thrive on bombsites. There was a brief return when the GEC building in Spon Street was demolished and the site rapidly colonised by the Ragwort weed.

I know they are not rare to see Dutchman, yes the ragwort is noted to be evasive. Was looking for rare species of anything as they are asking us to look out for a rough edged butterfly, when I came across these not meaning they are rare, every week new species of flies are found in UK gardens.

You're welcome Dreamtime, yes I wish some would leave it all to mother nature here we now have this, here, such a pretty plant but enormous damage to our water sides, through people throwing seeds.. LINK

What a cute little fella he is Kimbo. My husband used to live at no. 9 Dickens Road and when he was a lad he took a squirrel home from the local playing fields. He had the stupidity to let it go in the house and it shredded his mum's net curtains to bits. They finally caught it and trapped it in his sisters dolls house and he was made to take it back. The poor squirrel must have been petrified. Not sure what number you lived at but his name was Tony Shepherd, most likely before your time. Thank you for the lovely photo. Wave

About five doors down (away from Wallace Rd) and on the other side. Sorry, don't know the name.
