I was asked a question recently to which I didn't have a definite answer... "Whereabouts in Coventry was the bunny run?". I have the feeling it was around the Burges / Trinity Street area, but if anyone can tell us all more about it, that would be great. Cheers, Rob

I don't know if this is the same thing, but I am sure my old mother told me about watching The Bunny Run as a girl from the windows of The Reform Club in Warwick Row - this would be in the 1930's

Thanks Cliff - that could be yet another one that was around the city - sounds like there were a few. The lady who asked me thinks there might have been one in the Stoke area, and I've been told it could've been somewhere around Humber Road. Anyone know?

I think the current bunny run is Earlsdon Street on Friday / Saturday nights! Smile

The Bunny Run as I remember it around 1950 was always Trinity St, the Burges and Hales St. This, being central to town, was, on a Saturday night, a continual stream of young, unattached boys and girls chatting and wolf whistling each other. But in those days it was all just innocent fun. I am sure other areas also had their smaller versions of a less populated Bunny Run but none could match the one in town.

The Bunny Run that I and many other frequented was the first bench on the Binley Road from Brays Lane, its back was onto South Ave, a lot of "good" times were had there, that was after we had left the youth club in Brays Lane of course Does ring anything?

Look at the thread Going Out 1940-1949, it states the locations about the bunny run on Coventry Memories. Tells some interesting stories others might like to read.

Thanks for the link Morgana Thumbs up The good lady appears to have mixed up Gosford Green with Greyfriars Green, it's understandable though. Smile

Just so this doesn't happen again! Gosford Green was where the duel was due to take place. Greyfriars Green was where the WWI tank sat on its plinth (by the way, what happened to it? Presumably was carted off during WWII for scrap, some would say "good riddance", shame in a way).

So, you've met a girl on the Bunny Run in the 1920s or 1930s. If it existed then, let's say it did. Where would you take her for a night out in Coventry city centre?
