I went to St Osburgs from 1952 to 1958
Lots of 'big' boys and girls in the playground
No secondary schools then
50 to a class, split by half years, playground packed
Great teachers, some a bit fierce
Can't complain as I was a bit of a ruffian
I was there (for a very short period) in 1959.
Don't recall the (first year) class being particularly large?
Can't remember the teacher's name? I do remember identical twin boys in the same class who used to argue like cat and dog.
The playground was split level with infants on one level and juniors on the other.
Never ate there as I lived just down the road in Bond Street so it wasn't far to walk home. Decided later that was a mistake and preferred to eat with the other kids when I went to St Mary's.
