Continuing my theme, Facing in the opposite direction can be seen the lines that served the Pope factory, the current Dunlop site. Burnaby Road was just a trackway. The single storey buildings are munition workers live-in huts. Yelverton Road is visible, but again, just a track.

That bit of road is my bĂȘte noire. It should be simple to take it to get to the bypass but I make a mistake or get stuck trying to get onto the mini roundabout. Grrrrr. What I'm looking for is an image of the land near Charterhouse Cottages just north of the viaduct near the sewage works and London Road.

Some crackers on there, Neil, thank you! Very interesting seeing the fields around where our own house would be built just a year later in 1932. Smile

Follow that link Anne then scroll down and you should see a map appear which you can zoom in to. There are many that we have seen before on BFA but some good new views. You can also search via Postcode.

It's the Pavilion in Spencer Park, Linda - pic (c) The Coventry Society. There is a great little 'Friends' Association that looks after the park and facilities (primarily as the Council couldn't fund anything!). The roof was close to collapse a few years ago until members saved it. They use it as a Cafe on occasion.

I remember a "Dr Who" Police box on the left of the Spencer Park opposite Belvedere Road on Broadway. We used the park for tennis activities when I was at KHVIII school in the 60's.
