Ian C. Yes, I remember this - in fact I was only talking about this yesterday! You're right about the tennis courts and Sunday late morning. For photos, you may want to try looking in the Telegraph archives, as they did a spread on the club racing in about '73, '74 - ish.

Hi Throwley, I didn't dream it all then. Smile I used to live in Silverdale, the house that faced up Cheadle Close. You could hear the cars across the park, which was always all the encouragement we needed. I'd grab some friends and we'd head over, and as you got closer you could smell the engines... happy days. If I find anything in the archives I'll be sure to post it here. ian c.
