Hi Midland Red,
Great to see this fountain working again - will definitely have a look when I'm around there next. Was interested to read that it is likely to be the only example of a working Victorian drinking fountain in the whole of the UK. |

The fountain was originally to be seen here from where it was relocated in 1921 |

Greylad. Thank you for posting photo showing Mr Williamson's hardware shop in Earlsdon. In the mid 1960s I was in a rock group with his son in Coventry. |

Does anyone remember the Albany Club on the Albany Rd in the 60s. Steward Mr Tovey (Mr T), and the pork bap shop opposite Broadway, they were delicious. Question Duckie

Sally, I do remember the pork batch shop in Albany road and agree that it was good. I remember going in there just after the Kennedy assassination and all the talk of it.
I also used to use an off licence in that area and remember on one night as I went in I passed someone coming out. The owner of the shop asked me if I knew him, saying that he was a Pole who regularly came in to buy two pints of Guiness and a bottle of vodka that he said he used to boil with two pounds of sugar to make a stronger drink. |
