Hi Kaga. The large building in the centre of the photo is where the Green Man pub was, now replaced by flats and what was my shop is the building on the right (the end wall next to the river & footpath).

I did have a look to see if there were any foundations showing, but there are too many chippings on the ground.

20a-Manor House But your shop was on the other side of AGRd and the Rose in June among those trees on the right, and that brick wall wasn't there in the forties when the pubs were. And the river came from left to right at the foot of the trees, the bridge was on the left of your house. I sheltered partly under it during an air-raid when they hit the Morris. Long long ago.

While watching some camcorder recordings I took from 30 plus years ago recently, one tape I took of the shop we had did capture for a very brief moment the building that had been the 'Rose in June'. It's not a great picture, as the only way to get it was to take a photo of the TV screen whilst the video was playing: The same view now using Google:

The Green Man pub was in Hall Green Road, at the junction with Windmill Road and Aldermans Green Road and just inside Aldermans Green Road where Pedley's started selling cars from his house in the 1960's before building the showrooms in Henley Road, Bell Green.

If I remember it right, but I maybe wrong, Pedley had a sales patch on the right of Bell Green Rd just down from Proffitt Ave before he built his place on Henley Rd.
