Hi Foxcote I shall not ask when I next see her then if it's best not to as Heritage stated information not always correct. Shame really as it was a big catch. |

Morning Morgana, oh I reckon you should ask the lady because none of us are sure about him and any info would be good, we were only saying that we have sometimes been given the wrong details on some of the 'picture sites' and to double check if possible the information given on them, usually wrong addresses on photos, that sort of thing. It definately sounds like some sort of nickname though, the way there are apostrophes around 'Blimey', don't you think? |

I shall ask Aunt Nancy when I see her, she use to work in Acorns but not seen her for a while, I see if I can get her phone number next time I go to Bedworth. Yes I think it possible it's a nickname or an expression of the size of the catch. |

Don't get tied up on nicknames which 'Blimey' obviously is. It's a typical Bedworth nickname and he was certainly dressed in normal best suit for the photograph. Nice fish though, better than you get from the normal fish counter.
I will ask Mort Birch (ex editor of Bedworth Echo) about the photo when I see him next. |

As it happens Mort Birch has just been in touch about an article he is writing for the Nuneaton News.
He has never heard of 'Blimey' Hall but knows of a character by the name of 'Sol' Hall. Possible that it is the same man.
Interesting picture, but means nothing to me. |

Possible could be the one of the same. No I didn't think it would mean any thing to you, but might be interesting to a Bedworth born person. |

I think if somebody says something on a regular basis, in this case `blimey` it rubs off on the person involved so this Mr Hall has this nickname, well that's my opinion anyway.

I agree with you Norm, He looks ex-military to me, with his composer, shiny shoes. Sergeant Major like. Blimey, also sounds army. Just my thoughts. |

Thanks all for trying to identify 'Blimey'! I am with you on the ex-military profile. He couldn't have procured that fish from anywhere local could he? |
