Arrived and moored up at Coventry Canal Basin 9:20am this morning. Rained most of the way from Sutton Stop, but, dry here:

It does look a bit gray there but your lovely boat brightens up the photo. Have a good visit to the city.

Before you leave the basin if you have time, visit the Riley archives which are in the row of shops/offices on your starboard side. Worth a visit. Double thumbs up

lindatee2002 - Thank you. The day did start off rather wet and dull, but, the afternoon was lovely when the sun came out, then a little bit more rain later in the day. matchle55 - I had called at the Riley place a couple of times last year, but, never found it open. Today it was, so have been in there. I have some Riley items and offered them if they were interested, which they are, so they can have the items.

Thanks for that, I think that they will run out of space soon. I have had my Riley for 46 years, so try to promote the name wherever possible. It's fascinating what you can find when you delve into the firm's history. There will be a gathering of cars at the canal basin on the 13th of this month for anyone interested. Double thumbs up

A fine display of Riley cars at the canal basin this morning. Nice to see a bit of sunshine as well.

Hi Not Local, I love those Rileys. I would love to see my Step grandad's car PHP 962. I traced it once down south somewhere but have lost the details. Just checked and it has been taxed to May this year. Although it is red now, it used to be a lovely blue green colour with a black roof. I posted a picture of it in 2013 under Riley cars post number 1.

If I had done my homework and read through the Riley Cars topic I would have recognised this car as belonging to a fellow forum member. Sorry Anne, no sign of your step grandad's car.

First time out this year, when I stop to think I have driven it down to Brittany twice and now from Nuneaton to the canal basin is not easy. City driving and 80 year old brakes do not go hand in hand Thumbs up

The rain yesterday, of course I was moving the boat in it, always seems to rain on my moving days!. But, so pleased it did stop raining, I was worried that I was going to end up on the towpath, the Coventry Canal is full!:
