What about the people who have Community Service orders against them? Where do they serve their 'sentence'? Working in Charity Shops perhaps??

On 3rd Mar 2016 1:52pm, Norman Conquest said: Try keeping your children away from school and you could expect a chat with a magistrate.
I was rather surprised to read your post on this topic Norman, my daughter would have something to say about that. Surely that menial job would be more suited for 'Offenders' rather than schoolchildren. As a teacher she would hate to see schoolchildren picking up litter of any kind these days. I agree with everything you say though.

It's just part of a campaign by 'Keep Britain Clean' called 'Clean for the Queen'.

When my boys were little it was drummed into them that sweet wrappers, chocolate bar wrappers etc were NOT to be dropped but were to be put in their pockets. They would come home from school with their pockets full. It doesn't appear that today's parents can be bothered to teach their children not to be litter louts. It infuriates me, and I could almost cry when I see programmes on the TV that show the mess some fly-tippers leave in our beautiful country lanes. Angry

Picking up this 4 year old tread. One of my pet hates is litter, there is just no need for it!! I am now unfortunate that I live just far enough from the "Fatty Island" takeaways, that all drivers and their passengers can finish their burgers, chicken or pizzas and then deposit the rubbish out of the car windows on or around my frontage. I have also noticed how our littering has increased due to the number of disposable masks that appear everywhere!!
