Hello, looking for information about the Wilding family of Telfer Road.
William and Edith were my grandparents who we lived with. They married around 1939 and lived in Three Spires Avenue.
William's parents (James William and Annie Maria) settled in Coventry around 1900/01 from Worcester with James William Jnr.
Still have family in the city (Villa Rd, Links rd, Outermarch Rd, Stevenson Rd, Tulliver St, Ansty) and others where contact has been lost.
Any leads appreciated.

If you are interested in the Wilding family pre-Telfer Road, I have found some details on the census for you.
1901 - James Wilding, age 53, born 1848, Worcs. Boot maker, living with all his son, two daughters, daughter-in-law and grandson just six months (James Wm Wilding) at 126 Red Lane.
Could have been his business as well there.
1911 - James Wilding, (b.1848), living with wife and single daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Metal Ball Examiner) at 33 Castle St. Coventry.
While in 1911, James William Wilding (b.1876) (Lamplighter) was living with his family of wife Anne Marie, young James William, Annie Elizabeth, William (b.1905) and George Albert (b.1909) at 1 Court, 18 House, Leicester St., Coventry. Can't say much more than that, hope it helps. |

Hi Morgana and Foxcote.
Thanks both for replying. Foxcote, thanks for the info - Edith was my gran and I have the detail on her job from my grandad's death certificate.
I also have found some of the family line currently back to 1819. More recent info (past 1911) takes more time to research as you cannot see census records for 100 years after they were taken. Slowly speaking to different family members to gather this.
Morgana - Kath is my mum. Ann and Sue aunts and Michael my uncle. Many of their children still living in the area. Tulliver Street, Links Road and Outermarch Road.
Love to know more, especially how you knew the family.

Hi Foxcote, sorry I misread your line about metal ball examiner. Thanks for the reminder we already had this information and also that of Edith who was a chain inspector/examiner.
Thanks again.
Kind regards, jubileeboy

Thanks for getting back, I don't mind having a 'delve' for folks on here as long as they don't think I am prying.
Anyhow, I need a bit of interest with other people's ancestors, one of mine was only an umbrella mender and that was the best paid one of the lot |
