Hi Mel. Good to hear from you after all these years, as derrick writes, I now live in Combe Martin, North Devon. I left Coventry in 1972 but am still in touch with old friends and relatives still living in Coventry. Hi Midland Red. Thank you for emailing Mel for me. Mel (Melvyn) is an old mate of mine who I haven't seen for over 60 years so it was great knowing that he was trying to contact me. He has not yet responded to your email it seems, but if it's within the Historic Coventry Forum's rules and procedures would it be permissible to send him my email address and telephone landline number? John I've not had a response from Mel either. I invited him to get in touch with you via the contact button which appears alongside your posts. That would link him to your email address. In the meantime, I've edited your post above, to remove your email address and telephone number, so that they are not on public display - any non-member of the forum, browsing the thread, would have been able to see them, and this is something which, for the security of our members, we will not allow (only registered members can use the contact button). Likewise, as Mel has chosen not to allow email contact by members via the forum, we are not permitted to give you his email address, which is why I chose to try to contact him on your behalf. Let's hope that Mel either picks up my email, or returns to the forum and sees your recent posts.
