Union Street National School

Doing some work on school log books we have come across UNION STREET NATIONAL SCHOOL, COVENTRY. According to British History Online it was a new building, called the Central National School, in Greyfriars churchyard in Union Street and was opened in 1826. The building was in the Elizabethan style, the schoolrooms standing on arches with playgrounds beneath, and consisted of boys' and girls' rooms on each side of a master's house, accommodating 240 boys and 240 girls. The 1905 Coventry map does show a school on the south side of Greyfriars. Would any of you have any other information on the school, closure date etc.

It's clearly visible on this map dated 1906.
