Coventry Malleable and Aluminium in Spon Street

Anyone got any information on Coventry Malleable and Aluminium that used to be in Spon Street purchased to make way for ring road?

Hi, David. It made aluminium die castings and it was at number 41 Spon Street, which was on the south side, not far west from Crow Lane. I don't think that there is a direct picture of 41 but it is partially shown on the right of the picture of number 40 below. I don't know how many of the buildings behind the (early to mid 1800s) building at the front, belonged to them but this aerial photo is probably the best to see what was there after the war. If you find Crow Lane below the EY of SURVEY. On the left of that was a Rudge building, then the sweet shop at 40 and then 41, slightly taller, next to it. There are other aerial photos of that area but from before the war, and none of them very clear but the two best that I've found are here and here. There might be a lot more in the newspapers.

It would help if you could describe the sorts of things you'd like to know eg it was selling equipment due to closure in Jan 1963. It existed before the war. It had another location at Lincoln Street. They were at number 42 in 1935, which in 1926 was the Rover Cycle Co casting department.
