My mother always quoted 'Mothering Sunday, Curds & Whey, Palm Sunday, Easter Day'
Lifted from Google:
What is Curds & Whey Sunday?
Curds and whey - Out of AmbitCurds and Whey Sunday is an old, traditional Lent custom, particularly associated with Coventry, UK, where colostrum (the rich, early milk from a newly calved cow) was made into junket and given to the sick and elderly. It is a Lenten tradition rooted in sharing dairy-rich, nutrient-dense foods during a period of fasting.
Anyone out there able to add anything to this?
