I am 80 years of age and trying to trace my past history. I attended both of the mentioned schools in 1950 and 1951/2 (approximately). My name at the time was Sandra Hollingsworth and a name that I can recall was a Francine Lightfoot. Does anyone remember my name. If so would love to hear from you.

Well hello Foxy Lady! I too am 80 years old (young) at Christmas time this year. Francine Lightfoot was my best friend at Stoke Lodge School! She was clever and passed to Barr's Hill/Stoke Park and I went on to the wonderful Lyng Hall Comprehensive school. I have lots of photos of my time at SL as I had my first Brownie 127 camera! Also some cracking shots which I think were official Press photos of a nativity play and the class with Miss Bembow as the form teacher. I remember Miss Davies and Miss Rickards (my dad embarrassingly always used to say Give my regards to Miss Rickards (roll of eyes!). I remember the hideous outside toilets which used to freeze up, the exciting sports day on the EEC works sports field (yep, I've a photo of that too). I remember trips to Leamington Spa for the speech and drama and music festival. Lots of names, Anne Abercrombie, Wendy Clews, Mary Jackson? Jaqueline Hill(?), Angela Woodward. I realise it's now quite late...sorry for typos...I'm off to bed...more to follow!......How could I not mention Mrs Riley and her dog in the kitchen....

Hello Wendy, Welcome from us all. Pull up a chair & pass the port. Oh tea if you like, no sugar for me. Please keep posting. We are open 24/7. That was a superbly presented memory.

Hello Wendy, thanks for responding. I remember sports days well and the "toilets". I find names difficult to recall, but I do remember a Mrs Beaumont Hill and a Miss/Mrs Williams? You and I appear to be the same age (I was 80 in April) were we in the same class? I was Sandra Hollingsworth, a little naughty it has to be said. Unfortunately I do remember one lunchtime at the "request" of a fellow pupil, trying to cut her plait off with a pair of blunt school scissors, and then trying to stick it back on with sellotape! Needless to say I was not the flavour of the month either at school or at home. Do you have any photos of that time, if so I would love to see them. Please press the contact button to the left if you would like to respond. Regards S

A1foxylady, if you invite people to contact you via the proxy forum email, then you can exchange your real email in secret. That gives you a certain amount of safety.

No worries A1foxylady Thumbs up This situation is made more difficult when some people don't enable the contact button. I understand their concern but the forum email protects your real email unless you choose to share it. I'll remove your email and Wendy can decide whether to contact you through the mail system or not. Smile

Hello, Just some intro chat from me. I do hope that you haven't suffered because of the storms over the South that I've been learning about. I notice that you live in Devon. My parents spent their retirement years in Bodmin, Cornwall. Best wishes.
