Merry Christmas everyone!
It's been a while, but I'm looking again to the Members of this forum to help me with a project I am working on - I hope you can help?
In February 1945, a Wellington bomber aircraft crashed down onto the bungalows of Kingswood Avenue, Corley.
I am researching that tragic event, which claimed the lives of three aircrew and five civilians, with the hope of remembering those individuals on what will be the 80th Anniversary of the crash.
Do you, or a member of your family, have any memories/recollections of anything to do with this incident? Did a relative live in Kingswood Avenue at the time? Did they tell you anything about it?
I do already have quite a few details, but it would be great to hear those personal accounts from those that lived through it, or accounts that have been passed on to family members. Perhaps, with families gathering for Christmas, there's an opportunity to discuss this?
In addition, do you have any knowledge of RAF Bramcote, or 105 OTU (formed in April 1944) which operated from the base?
Any information would be gratefully received.
OddSock: Particularly interested in the family surnames Cowley, Shale, & Pratt in Coventry!
