I left Coventry at an early age when my parents emigrated. According to my birth certificate I was born in 1947 at 7 Park Road, Coventry. I see that a Victorian residence at that address was demolished and it is now a development site. Was it ever used as a maternity hospital or nursing home? I would appreciate it if anyone has any information. Rick L

Hi Airham, welcome to the site and I hope some one can help you with the information you are looking for. 7 Park Road which was called Queenswood has been mentioned in an earlier topic but maybe someone can help you with what happened to the property after David Cooke who lived there died in 1932. Cooke's of Coventry c1898

Hi Airham, Sorry this response is so long after your post. I too was born at 7 Park Road, in 1951. I have just found my Baby Book, which says I was born at The Hollies nursing home, with Dr Eric Kenderdine in attendance. We later lived opposite Dr Kenderdine in Earlsdon Avenue. So hope this info is useful to you. Best wishes Diane

Hi everyone, I'm currently summarising the Church Notice Books for All Souls RC Church in Coventry and have just read an entry from 1955 stating that "The monthly meeting of the Catholic Nurses Guild will be held on Monday July 11th at the Queens Nurses Home, 8, Park Road". I realise that this is not number 7, but thought it might still be of interest.
