Helen yes that one actually confused me when first posted as the image (as we have seen several times before) had been flipped the other way around. If you or Rob (or anyone else for that matter!) want any of these current crop emailing direct message me as I have them sized a lot larger for the detail Thumbs up

Kaga, I think that Neil has flipped it the right way but the original was wrong. A few of the pictures from Mirrorpix are flipped too. And yes please Thumbs up Neil, it would be very interesting to see what more detail the original has compared to this one. You've got my email

Super shot of the North side of Jordan Well heading towards Gosford St - the junction with Freeth St would be just out of shot to the right. The photographer has his back just west of the Gaumont. Thanks to the Tony Lay on FB for this colour-tinted shot which gives great detail plus Heathite for helping identify via the shops in the directories!

Thanks Prof. This was a curiously unloved stretch of the city with almost all the images of it before the war looking east and those are few in number. The 2014 image is near to Much Park Street whereas the 1925 was at Whitefriars Street. The 1940 image splits the distance.
