Hello, I'm not posting charts for the time being, but sharing a few thoughts, not so pleasant ones either. Our period of settled weather is on its way out, as low pressure moves up from the south, as the high moves away north east. The weekend looks to be unsettled with the risk of noisy rain. We might squeeze out a dry Thursday. I didn't expect the rain, the day I was telling you to hand your brolly back to the bank. That was my cockup at the start of this settled period. Have a good day all.

Not a weather forecast but an observation. As I've got relatives coming next week I've had my eye on the forecasts to see what we might get. Twice a day the forecasts have given wildly different predictions.

Hello & thank you Helen. Whilst having my break, (it's not maternity leave), I came across this fascinated passage from Joel in the Old Testament. "He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you- The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. I will try to explain. Folk three thousand years ago, didn't have satellites & weather balloons or use technology like we are used to. In fact folk didn't until after the thirties. The passage separated two types of rain, just as we do. Main rain & shower rain. The detail in the word translations actually hints at season's too. The shower rain in the Spring & Autumn. Reading the whole chapter sets it all into context as it's talking about springtime & harvest. The first huge cantata that I ever played for, was the day after my wedding, "Garnered Grain", with a choir of over 40, my Pam a contralto, in the choir, includes much of this chapter. Don't ask, but I often burst out in song with Pam's duet that she sang. The whole work takes about fifty minutes beginning to end. I hope you enjoy this bit of banter. This weekend is the third anniversary of Pam's delayed Wake.
