Hi all
One of the delights of our forum is when circumstances come together, so that I am able to meet some of the members from time to time & maybe even enjoy a trip out & about. Today, for me was another such occasion. I am bubbling now at home, from the delight from earlier today. Sometimes, when we meet as a team, as we do for some Saturday breakfasts, there are hard issues that have to be dealt with, because a web-site like this does not run by itself, but it is still so nice to meet & demonstrate that we are indeed human, flesh & bone & not just pixels. I love it, even when some things go a bit silly, but we try & pull it back together. We are only human. Many of you live far too far away in order to be able to physically meet up with other members. Living where I do in Coventry becomes even more valuable. This is just me now, but one of the worst thoughts that I have is for people who are lonely. For all of the things that do go wrong on our site, just now & again, the fact that we have this point of contact, focussed by our very own histories of Coventry, makes it all so worthwhile. Our Coventry Historical Forum adds quality to my life & it has again today.
Best wishes to you all. |

Hi all
It was lovely start to a Saturday, meeting for our forum breakfast.
A very serious time discussing the most important issues such as eggs & bacon, porridge with either strawberries or bananas, or a sausage batch. Equally serious though, it was a very sweet time together.

Hi all
A small but cordial breaky meeting this morning, as we were all enthralled with Helen's "Coventry Model Project". A member & his wife joined us for the first time too. Brill!
I cannot remember a meeting where there was so much real historical content discussed, much of which I am still piecing together. We were still there gone noon. It's easy to imagine that those of us that come to the breaky meets, are free of life's issues, but nothing could be further from the truth. Thank you to each who came, & a special thank to you Helen for driving all the way from Warrington.

Many thanks to all who made this morning's breakfast meet-up such a warm and enjoyable occasion - the warmth especially needed after we were all left waiting out in the cold until they finally opened at 10am!! And biggest thanks to Charabanc for today's treat! |

Great meeting this morning and many thanks to Charabanc for picking up the tab!
Shame we didn't know about the new opening times - most were there before 9:30 - and I thought I was a few minutes late due to roadworks just meters away from The Coundon forcing me to make a 5 mile detour , only to find there was a

Yes, echo the thanks to all and especially Mr S (Charabanc). We honestly did not look like a bunch of rogues standing in a pub car park at 0930 banging on the door for it to open! |

I'm sorry that I wasn't free to sus the venue out, so blame me for that. That's why if I suggest a venue, I like to test it out. Infact, I like testing it out, the eggs & bacon, toast, coffee, mushrooms, tea, sausage, bus routes, air quality, gardens, decor. Hold on, what on earth am I on about? There's a white coat coming for me. |

Philip we've definitely been there at 0930 before with you even though the bar-lady reckoned they've always only opened at 10! Anyway look forward to seeing you on the next one. |
