Forum Breakfast Meet-ups

Just to update this - I now can't make the Sunday. Helen and Rob are aware, so not sure if you are just going to head off now Sunday morning, Helen? Anyway, as it's mid-October now (yes really!) I guess it's as good a time as any to schedule our pre-Christmas breaky, so if anyone else fancies that, feel free to propose on here a date/venue etc. for that seasonal sausage!

Oops, I got the name of the great little cafe in the canal basin wrong but the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The mention of breakfast will always interest me, I will be there.

Coffee and or breakfast consumed and much enjoyed. I was cursing the weather as it was pouring while I should have been making my way to the Flying Standard. I was soaked just going from the hotel to my car. Fortunately, it eased off and then stopped as I dodged my way under shop overhangs. Great conversations all round.

OK, I'm going to suggest the 17th to set something in stone. Venue-wise, again I'm happy to suit anywhere really but The Flying Standard seems best to suit all. It would be great to see as many members there as possible for a winter warmer/pre-Christmas shindig. I know times are hard currently but a forum meet at Christmas might just be winter cheer-up medicine. Has anyone heard from Steve - Pixrobin's (RIP) friend who used to join us? I'd also be happy to accommodate a lunch if anyone prefers that or even an evening or two! The Herbert and the Golden Cross come to mind.

Hi all, On route from my chiropodist, I called in the Flying Standard & enjoyed a bacon sandwich with a latte for less than £5. Very nice. I would love to be my jovial self, but the tragedy in Solihull has really whacked me.

I so enjoyed our meeting today. It was so warm in Wetherspoons. Some folks were too warm. The friendship was very warm. Thank you for our host & hostess who did it all. Brill, brill & ...........brill!

I've left a very positive review using TripAdvisor. My grub was lovely. As was the service & warmth of heating on a bitterly cold day. Many places are skimping on energy bills. If you're cold, go to Wetherspoons!

'Twas a lovely meet-up indeed - thank you all! And the quickest service we've ever known... as Bev returned with a tray of hot drinks after placing our order, the waitress was literally following her to our table with the first plates of hot breakfast! Lubbly jubbly!
