Wow! You certainly get about. And your pictures actually zing. My favourite is the first one with the colour contrast between the building and the blue sky. Fantastic! Whoever said that modern buildings are just drab concrete!

I managed the trip into town after a couple of weeks of not getting out at all. Although my main purpose was to take pictures of the backs of the buildings on the east of the Burges, this scene became very striking.

We all know there's an elephant at the top of that pole facing into Broadgate but I thought I'd show you it in relative close-up.
What has happened to the elephant - is it so old it's going grey?

Good morning MR,
Sorry no one got back to you about the 'grey' elephant. I had golden hair once - now I call it platinum There's a job for you, have you a spare tin of gold paint, I am sure there is someone who would give you a leg up! |

The Elephant
My photograph was taken in warm autumn sunshine on 6th October 2016 at around 10.30am. An exposure made a few minutes prior to the elephant shows the warm glow too.
For my elephant image it is also the angle of the light - I was using my little Panasonic compact at an equivalent of 550mm and, as my friend Steve knows, I will reverse my mobility scooter by 3-inches if I think it will allow me a better picture. I have tried the same angle that MR used and I get the same colours as he did.
In this past week I have re-learned another lesson. On Monday morning I battled trying to get a decent picture of the statue at the bottom of Hertford Street. It was then in the shade of trees. At around 4.45 on Friday afternoon it was a very easy shot. I took several pictures of it from different angles so I don't have to return to take pictures of it again.

Four of the six cygnets at the Swanswell. This is the first set of cygnets at the Swanswell that I'm aware of.
