Just thought I'd warn other forumers with loved ones at Canley Crem - I went to lay some flowers for my dad who would have been 75 on Tuesday and was shocked at the state of the place. I've never seen it so overgrown. It was almost like the old part of London Road! Cutbacks kicking in?!! Oh my

That's very sad to hear NeilsYard as we come to Coventry four or five times a year and that's the first place we go, will be down this Sunday. This is a short video I uploaded on another thread on here if anyone would like to look here as this part of the crem's changed so much over the years

Thanks for that video. My eldest son was cremated there August two years ago. At that time we spoke to a gardener who told us that there only two full time gardeners there. I think they have done remarkably well to keep the place looking so good. It is very sad if the cemetery is now getting overgrown. Perhaps the wet weather has caused fast growth. Les

My son is buried at Canley. He died suddenly three years ago aged 41. We have bought two vases with a spikes on the bottom for flowers. One of them was stolen. Gary was a keen motorcyclist so we have bought several novelty motorcycles to put on his grave and one of those was stolen. Now we just lay flowers on his grave about once a month.

Just goes to show how low some people will stoop. I would have replaced with better and left a weatherproof note, thank you, you've just been caught on camera. It does work.

They steal from the cars in the carpark at our local Crem. and even took a puppy once. These thieves have no conscience or respect for the living or the departed. There is nowhere on earth you can go now without a crime being committed. Sad
