Hi all,
Our new pub, bucking the trend of pub closures that is blighting our area here in Coventry at present.
My granddaughter tells me that it is Pam who is at the memorial whereas it is me walking along the path near to the police box or Tardis. |

Hi Norm, Hi all
I have spent some time trolling the web for pub outdoor tables & chairs, but nothing. They were not a common feature in the fifties or even sixties here in the UK, like they were abroad. I might need your memories on this. Anyway, whilst daydreaming, thinking of Midland Red & Norm, having a summer drink at the pub, I saw Morgana enjoying her cherry brandy. I asked her if I could have her cherry stick, which along with the tree kit template bases, which were for throwing away, I think that we now have our tables. No chairs yet but I might make do with a couple of benches for now. The coping on top of the pub internal walls is in place so everyone. You will just have to sit on the wall for now.
I am not sure about the umbrella tops either, as I cannot remember those until the seventies. Can anyone help with them, please.
ps I do remember the Devonshire Arms having long folding trestle tables & chairs for the garden area at the back. I remember the label "Gamages" on the tables & chairs, but I don't think that they were left out as a permanent feature.
ps2 Viewing trains from the pub Midland Red, is easy, but what trains! A backwater, where the frequency of trains is akin to our Coventry voiding line. The best opportunity is where a visiting loco visits the steam cleaning facility. Other than that, only the resident shunter is likely to run on the branch. |

The pub looks wonderful Philip, looks an inviting pub, I've got my own seat. The parasoles use to be striped as I recall earliest first pub ones normally had a beer name written on on a white background as I recall, eg Ansells . |

I hope I will still be able to see the trains from the outside tables! |

Hi all,
The completion of our pub, brings our Longford Park project to its completion.
It also completes the railway & its communities, as far as its boundaries are concerned. Point & signal remote control are projects for next year, as well as any portable scenic sections that we may decide to add. The room that the railway is housed in, also needs redecoration, once my redundant keyboard stuff is moved out. |

Hi
Longford Park fencing installed & glued. Park benches not fixed as we might have too many for the small area.
A friend said to me this evening that they were envious of me, for it is as though I am enjoying a second childhood-like passion of enjoyment with our railway. I replied to him, being fully factual & honest, that I had not finished my first childhood passion yet. |

You have a point there Philip. Can you honestly say that there will be a day when it will be finally finished. I
think there will always be some little detail you will want to update or change. All part of the enjoyment and
a pleasure to view. |

Hello Dreamtime,
There is always loads to do, but other than the railway going through a wall into a downstairs shower, a hall-way or outside into the great outdoors, it has reached its limits. Ballasting, signal & point control as well as scenery detail will take ages. In the mean time we have a pic of the down Banbury to Bescot freight, the only train which regularly uses the Burrow Hill station through line, as is show by the signal setting.

Hi Dreamtime, Hi all
Maybe you, along with other members of our forum are in this pic. A model it is, but I mean it, on such a solemn occasion, as we remember those who have sacrificed for us, this morning.
