I agree Anne. I think they might be from a day out of town by the photographers. There is an outside chance that they're from the south side of Earl Street but unlikely. |

If you search on the Mirrorpix page for Palace Yard it comes up with a picture of Palace Yard, the one we would recognise but with exactly the same description. It is obviously a different place as the architecture is completely different, but for some reason want to place it in Priory Row. |

The Mirrorpix collection is somewhat suspect. We've already identified photos that don't belong and ones that have been submitted back to front. The labelling is probably an afterthought for them. |

Yes, it's a strange 'collection', a mix of a lot of newer 'press' images with a few older ones - many inaccurate. |

I recognise the first photo but the second isn't obvious. I think it's the front of St John's you can see (stair tower looks like it's back right) so somewhere south east from there. |

Don't know what the central building is - on the extreme right is the rear of "Woolworth's" building in Market Way, three sections of the upper storey of the Lower Precinct can also be seen |

I think this is the building.
Open the link and zoom out twice. The building is between the Barracks and the Ace Works.
The building is half way from the congregational church on Hertford Street and the roundabout next to St John's Church in this image. |

It has to be the site of the Market, so mid 50s taken. When was the Lower Precinct finished? Also the photo would have to be taken from down towards where the Bull Yard opening is in the market. |

It's a rare view of a building that was obscured because of the narrowness of the road and a surfeit of impressive buildings nearby. |

I was waiting to see if anyone else wanted to venture a location but lacking a rush of answers, it's Pepper Lane, next door but one to the Golden Cross. |
