That's a very good angle on row on the right. |

I'm not sure I've seen this one before - which New Inn was this one?

Thanks Helen - this one then? Surprised we've not seen it on film before if it only closed in 1970? |

I guess so. The Blue Pig he refers to was the one on Gosford Street. |

I know you have what looks like part of this same image on the Pubs section Rob but the full image is interesting to see the rest of that row - The Pub was on Short Street but I thought that row was still part of Much Park Street leading to London Road at the time?

I think that you're right Neil. I don't know exactly when it happened but the creation of the Ring Road chopped off the bottom of Much Park Street. The next logical name for the stranded bit was Short Street, some short distance behind the camera and to the right. So Much became lesser and Short became longer. |

Looking at the map dated 1937 in the Cov Pub history site Short St was always as it is, short. Much Park St goes to the left at the bottom of Short St in front of the Rodney. Nicholson

The question is what year was the bottom of Much park Street converted into the new part of Short Street and thus changing the location name of The Admiral Lord Rodney? It would have followed the demolition for the ring road but I don't know the date it was officially renamed. |

From a newspaper clipping but I don't think we've seen this one before - 60 Spon Street. The Pubs section tells us this is 1893 - 1896 H. Sprayson Could we add the pic Rob?

Very nice Neil There are other images of the building but from after it stopped being a pub. For a moment though I thought it was the Queens Arms on Gosford Street as that's almost the only building on that street that I haven't got a decent image of. Though I was at the same time disappointed because I'm fairly sure that one was jettied. Keep up the good work! |

I made a table similar to that under the guidance of Bert Stanger the woodwork teacher. Do you remember him Phillip? |
