No joy, I'm afraid. I can find only five people with the name of Hensman buried in London Road up to 1937, and none of them is Irene. The five that are buried there are:-
Arthur, aged 33 , died 1914
Edwin John, aged 17, died 1929
George Aubrey, aged 10 months, died 1905
George Frederic, aged 68, died 1925
Loris John, aged 44, died 1928
Sorry I can't be of more help. |

Thank you, that was very kind of you to look.
I'll have to keep trying - she's very elusive!

Hi MaryMc. If Irene Mary Hensman was interred into one of the four council cemeteries I may be able to help you, though it will take a couple of days.
If she was interred in a churchyard then it may be a little more difficult as some church records were not as accurate as the council's. Also it would be helpful to know the parish in which she was born as it will help to identify the churchyard in which she may be. TCS

Here we go.
Irene Mary Hensman
Born 15th Feb 1924 at 8 Stanley St (now St Elizabeths St, near St Elizabeths RC Church)
Died 15th April 1924 at 8 Stanley St.
Daughter of George and Hilda Hensman
George and Hilda moved to Coventry circa 1908, from Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
When living in Coventry (in later years anyway) they appeared to attend a Church of England Church. In Bedfordshire, it seems they were Methodist.
I was told by another family member that Irene was baptised at St Pauls, Foleshill, but as far as I have been able to ascertain, there is no burial record for her there. I'm not 100% sure on that though.
I'll leave it with you
Edit to say: George and Hilda are buried in Windmill Rd Cemetery, but I've been unable to find Irene there. |
