Yes I did google the name and found the same as you re WW1. TBH I have no idea what his father William Henry was doing. He was born 1879 so would have been 35 when the war began, so too old to have been called up at that stage I think. I couldn't find William in either the 1901 or 1911 censuses when I looked some time ago (have no access to 1921) so it's all rather mysterious. I have seen other male children born during WW1 with forenames the same as battle zones eg Verdun, but usually the second name and not the main one that
they would have been known by.
