Unusual forenames

I have two members of my extended family tree with most peculiar forenames, a) Mazillah Birchall (nee Hopkins), living at 12 Earlsdon Street at the time of her death 1914 (I had the most awful job tracing her in censuses as she had 3 husbands and her names were mis-transcribed so often) and her great-grandson b) Bailluel R Miles, born 1915, married Grace Lomas 1942, had 6 children, no more known. He had 3 siblings all with more common names William, Elsie and Catherine and with quite a gap in the years of birth (1897,1898, 1902). I did wonder if he could have been adopted? Just wondering if anyone has more info on either of them.

Slight change to the spelling but Bailleul was a significant town in WW1. There is a war cemetery there. What was Bailluel's dad doing in 1915?

Yes I did google the name and found the same as you re WW1. TBH I have no idea what his father William Henry was doing. He was born 1879 so would have been 35 when the war began, so too old to have been called up at that stage I think. I couldn't find William in either the 1901 or 1911 censuses when I looked some time ago (have no access to 1921) so it's all rather mysterious. I have seen other male children born during WW1 with forenames the same as battle zones eg Verdun, but usually the second name and not the main one that they would have been known by.

We had a neighbour in a nearby village called Vimy Ridge. His father fought in that WW1 battle. Known to everyone as Vimy.

...... and my two kids are called Zarinda and Myshola. Myshola always claims that the only reason she was accepted by her university was because she had attended a Church school. She was dyslexic and her name suggested she was foreign and black so she ticked several boxes!!!
